Far into the future, Éclair is a receptionist by day and secret agent by night. She is employed by the Galactic Organization of Trade and Tariff's special forces unit "ES" (Encounter of Shadow-Work) to keep the galactic economy functioning. At the point in canon she comes from, Éclair has for the first time disobeyed ES orders and refused to carry out a mission. Angered by how the Nobles of the planet Aure exploit the working class, she turns on her clients and instead supports the very rebellion she was sent to quash. For her defiance she and her partner Lumière have been removed from the GOTT registry and are now being hunted by their former employers.
Point in Story: Beginning of episode 12 "Frozen/Life", when she and Lumière are expelled from ES and are on the run as fugitives
Personality: Her name means "lightning," but Éclair is more like a ray of sunshine. Eternally cheerful and ready to help others, her lighthearted and easygoing attitude is sometimes interpreted as childish by others. She values honesty and believes in direct solutions to problems. Even on assignment she does her best to be everyone's friend. She tends to be very gentle and caring even towards strangers, often befriending local children while on missions to other planets.
However, because she is such a caring person, Éclair is also prone to acting rashly. If it's to protect someone else or uphold justice, she thinks nothing of rushing blindly into a dangerous situation. Such behavior often leads her younger, quieter partner Lumière to chastise her for her lack of "elegance." Éclair believes strongly in the idea that all people are equal and every life is valuable. Cruelty and social injustice enrage her, and recently she has proved herself to be willing to defy orders to do what she considers morally right.
There's more than meets the eye with Éclair, though--she also harbors a dark past. She has been working for the GOTT for over two hundred years (going through several bodies in the process). Other members of ES continually make veiled references to acts she has committed in past lives, the people she has killed, and how she repeats her actions throughout her different incarnations. But Éclair isn't aware of anything she's done before; her memories were wiped upon her transfer to her current body. A recent mission to Dardanos put her in close proximity to radio transmissions used for brainwashing, "unlocking" some of her memories. Because she lacks context for the fragments she has been given, Éclair sometimes suffers from nightmares and the occasional hallucination.
Powers/Abilities: Éclair's power (aptly called "Power") includes incredible speed and strength, as well as accelerated healing capabilities. However, because she previously planted a post-hypnotic suggestion in her own mind, Éclair believes that she can only use her strength if she is wearing lipstick. Her lipstick is created of a peculiar substance similar to latex, and can be scribbled across a surface and then lifted off to be used as a sturdy and elastic rope or whip. In addition to her lipstick she also carries a .45 Walther P99.

Ta-daaaa! This is C-Class agent Éclair of ES, reporting for duty!
But, well...I'm not sure what my duty is. I just woke up, and I don't know where I am. Can someone tell me what's going on? I went to sleep on La Muse, and I woke up on this different ship!
Huh, I wonder if I can pull up the news on this thing...
Oh! Lumière! Lumière, can you hear me? You're here too, aren't you?
Third Person POV (Log Post):
Éclair hit the floor hard and lay still for a long moment.
Her hair, still soaked with traces of preservative liquid, clung to her neck and shoulders in long, sticky strands. The room was cold, and she shivered in her wet shift.
She tried to drag herself up from where she lay prone. Her limbs didn't respond, and adrenaline flooded her brain. What? How long did I stay there without moving?
Stop. Wait. Get a grip. Lumière would tell her not to panic or act rashly. Éclair forced herself to take slow, deep breaths despite the mist that surrounded her. This was uncomfortable, but for the moment she couldn't do anything about that. Slowly, determinedly, she gritted her teeth and managed to drag herself to her hands and knees.
Realizing how ungraceful the position was, she coughed out a hoarse chuckle. If Lumière was here she'd be hearing all about how unladylike she looked right now! Clumsily, she crawled to her cryo-chamber and grabbed its side, using it to haul herself to her feet. She felt a bit more herself now, and she could feel the beginnings of her Power returning. Experimentally she tested her voice, anxious to make sure the preservative wasn't clinging to her sinuses and throat.
"Hello? ...Lumière?"
One hand still on the chamber, she attempted a hesitant step towards the door. Then, letting go of her support, another, wincing at the coldness of the floor against her bare feet. Her hands clenched into fists at her side as she glanced around the room, noting the other chambers. She wasn't alone on this ship. Furthermore, she didn't have any of her special weapons. Éclair would have to be careful as she explored.
Careful wasn't a particular trait of hers, but she was confident that she wouldn't run into trouble. She didn't really need her lipstick, her gun, even her boots. She was a weapon.
